Nature’s Bounty Evening Primrose OilMarketed as a health product to help promote women’s health, Nature’s Bounty Evening Primrose Oil is our next product up for review. As our second pick, this product contains a 1000mg serving per day, for a strong dose of EPO. However, it is standardized to only 9% GLA instead of the highest amount possible which is 10%. GLA is the active ingredient responsible for all the health benefits of Evening Primrose Oil and therefore dosage is crucial. When reviewing this product, we were pleased to see a price tag that appeals to many consumers – not cheap, but definitely affordable. This may be due to the lower standardization of GLA found here. We liked that this product is cold-pressed for the gentlest and safest extraction of Evening Primrose Oil. We also appreciated that this manufacturer produces many supplements and has a quality reputation. There are two things we noticed which give us pause about this product. One is that Nature’s Bounty actually suggests taking 3 softgels per day which would increase the dosage of EPO but also cause consumers to finish a bottle in less than a month. Perhaps this is also why these bottles are sold at an attractive price since you will need 2 of them to get through the month. The other thing we did not appreciate was the lack of a money-back guarantee. Not only is there no way to purchase and return bottles directly to and from the manufacturer, it seems that returning bottles via third-party sites comes with many caveats. Should consumers not be 100% satisfied, it is not clear if they have any recourse. Continue reading our review to see if this product is worth your time and money. |

BlueBonnet Evening Primrose OilBlueBonnet Evening Primrose Oil promises its customers that it can support heart health, skin health, brain health, joint mobility and mood. It is cold-pressed for the purest extraction and is hexane-free. This product is also free of soy, gluten and dairy and contains non-GMO ingredients. However, the daily serving is 1300mg which is high but not as high as it could be. As the daily dose is still short of that of our Editor’s Choice product, it means that the amount of GLA will not be at the maximum either. GLA is rich in omega 6 fatty acids which are responsible for the health benefits associated with Evening Primrose Oil. While we are pleased that BlueBonnet has standardized their product to 10% GLA, it is still 10% of a lower dose. Thus, there is only 135 mg of GLA found in this product, so it is not surprising that there are many mixed customer reviews about its efficacy. One aspect to look out for in any supplement is the presence of a money-back guarantee. Unfortunately, BlueBonnet does not offer any such guarantee nor is there a return policy in place. As a consumer, this may not bother you. Indeed, this is not a reason to make a purchase or not. However, it is telling that only some companies offer solid return policies. Can you actually expect a higher-quality product from those companies that do offer a guarantee on their products? Perhaps. As everyone’s health is so individualized, sometimes the only way to know if a product will work for you is to try it yourself. If you do so with BlueBonnet’s Evening Primrose Oil, you will not receive any compensation if you are not happy with your purchase.
